Men's Soccer Ready to Defend Title
Aug 14, 2013
EASTON, Pa. – The defending Patriot League champion Lafayette men’s soccer team returned to College Hill on Tuesday and began preparation for the 2013 campaign. Wednesday morning marked the start of training following meetings and concussion testing with the Sports Medicine staff.
Head Coach Dennis Bohn opened the preseason with an early morning fitness test on the track at Metzgar Fields prior to breakfast and a training session inside Fisher Stadium. The squad will alternate training locations between the two locations leading up to its season and home opening match against La Salle on Aug. 30. Kickoff from Oaks Stadium is slated for 7 p.m.
Bohn has brought nothing but success to the program during his tenure in Easton and is looking for his 13th consecutive winning season in 2013. The squad returns six starters and 20 letterwinners from last season’s NCAA Tournament team, including All-Patriot League selections Alec Golini and Brandon Turner. Golini and Patriot League Tournament MVP Nathan McDonald will serve as Lafayette’s captains in 2013.
After Lafayette’s opening night tilt with La Salle, Bryant will travel to Easton for a 4 p.m. start on Sept. 1.
