Moyse to Captain Lafayette Men’s Soccer

Aug. 7, 2017

EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette men’s soccer head coach Dennis Bohn announced senior defender Christian Moyse as the team’s captain for the upcoming season on Monday morning.

An All-Patriot League Second-Team selection each of the last two seasons, Moyse has started every game for the Maroon and White since arriving on College Hill in 2014. The senior scored the second goal of his career this past season, heading in the game-winner at Bucknell on Oct. 5.

“I’m so proud to announce Christian as the captain for our team this season,” Bohn said. “Not only has he solidified himself as one of the better defenders in our league, but he has developed into a man of great character and has shown tremendous leadership. We’re fortunate to have a person of his skillset leading our team.”

Moyse, a staple at the center of the Leopards’ backline each of the last three seasons, anchored a unit in 2016 that led the Patriot League in goals-against average, allowing just 1.02 goals per contest. The Leopards posted six shutouts during a season that saw them fall just short of a Patriot League Tournament berth.

Lafayette opens up its 2017 campaign later this month, hosting Fairleigh Dickinson at Mike Bourger ’44 Field at Oaks Stadium on August 25 at 7 p.m.
