May 22, 2012

EASTON, Pa. - Julian Plummer, an All-Patriot League defender for the Lafayette men's soccer team, was recognized for his academic efforts at the College's annual Diversity Awards. Plummer received the Dr. Eugene DeLoatch '59 First-Year Academic Achievement Award.

Plummer merited the award as the student of color from the natural sciences division with the highest grade-point average. A Psychology major with a 3.70 GPA, Plummer was previously recognized for his performance in the classroom as a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

On the pitch, Plummer anchored one of the strongest defenses in the nation in 2011. The Leopards rank fourth in Division I with a 0.47 goals-against average and posted 10 shutouts in 18 matches. Plummer was a two-time BRINE Patriot League Rookie of the Week and the lone freshman to earn All-Patriot League honors, garnering a Second Team nod at middle back.
