EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette men’s soccer student-athlete and the founder of Athletes C.A.R.E Alec Golini has teamed up with members of the men’s and women’s soccer team and the men’s basketball team to launch the non-profit’s “Second Annual All-or-Nothing Campaign.”
The goal of the program is to raise $2,500 between April 4 and May 19, which will help furnish an apartment and supply necessities for a family at the Sixth Street Shelter. In unity with its name, the All-or-Nothing Campaign will only donate to the shelter if the $2,500 goal is met and all donations will be returned if the total is less than $2,500.
Last year, the project was a success when the group raised more than $6,000 for the Roof Over Women and Children Shelter in Easton, Pa. The donation went toward the purchase of beds, mattresses, blankets and pillows for the home.
An officially registered non-profit organization, 501(c)(3), Athletes C.A.R.E. (Creating Abundant Relief Effort) operates with the mission of providing food, clothes, necessities, care, and compassion to the needy hungry and homeless. Its goal is to engage athletes and young people in the community, using networks and connections amongst young people to establish a lasting relationship with members of the community.
