Men's Soccer Unveils Class of 2020

EASTON, Pa. - Head coach Dennis Bohn of the Lafayette men's soccer program announced the signings of 12 members to the Lafayette Class of 2020 on National Signing Day Wednesday afternoon.

Lafayette's 2020 class features 12 student-athletes from seven different states and two international students. The Leopards will have three freshmen from New Jersey, two from New York and one each from Massachusetts, Florida, Maryland, Washington, Pennsylvania, Singapore and England.

The incoming students will enroll for the fall semester. More information on each new member of Lafayette soccer can be found below.

Adam Bramson (Dover, Mass. /Milton Academy/GPS Massachusetts)

At Milton Academy: Played four years of varsity soccer, including three as a starter at midfield, right back and center back...four-year letterwinner...First-Team All-League selection in 2014 and 2015 and selected as a team captain his senior won the ISL and Class A New England championships his senior season, going 22-0 as the second-ranked prep school team in the country by All-State, All-Region, a New England All-Star, Boston Herald All-Scholastic and the ISL Defensive Player of the Year in 2015...plays club soccer for GPS Massachusetts...worked on the Milton Paper as a writer and managing/humor editor for four years.

Personal: Son of Howard and Carol Bramson...has a brother, Joey, who plays football at the University of Chicago...born on Sept. 11, 1997.

Zack Capolongo (Massapequa Park, N.Y. /St. Anthony's/Massapequa SC)



At St. Anthony's: Played two years of varsity soccer, scoring 10 goals and tallying 15 assists as a forward and outside went 17-3 his junior year, winning the New York State CHSAA championship...backed that up with a 16-2-2 senior season...two-year letterwinner...plays club soccer for Massapequa Soccer Club...earned honor-roll status each of his four years and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Son of Dominic and Dahlia Capolongo... has two siblings, Monica and Matthew...born on May 12, 1998.

James Gibson (The Balmoral, Singapore /Tanglin Trust)

At Tanglin Trust: Played four seasons of varsity soccer, starting in 2013, 2014 and 2015...was the top goal-scorer with nine goals in seven games and was named the MVP at the SEASAC Tournament in 2015, a tournament his team also won in 2013...member of championship teams in ASICA Division I in 2012, 2013 and 2014...named the U19 Player of the Year in 2015...won the Art award for achievement in 2015...enrolled in CAS (community, action and service) and helped create a program called `designed to move' to help younger kids exercise more in school and learn about nutrition.

Personal: Son of Lesley and Martin Gibson...born on March 17, 1998.

Diego Gomera-Tavarez (Clifton, N.J. /Paramus Catholic/World Class SC)

At Paramus Catholic: Played four years of varsity soccer, with three as a starter at defense and midfield...scored three goals and tallied 16 career assists...named team captain his final two seasons and was a two-time First-Team All-League selection...also was a three-year participant in track and field as a mid-distance/sprints performer, earning Second-Team All-League honors...plays club soccer for World Class Soccer Club...member of the National Honor Society, the International Honor Society and the Aquinas Scholars Program.

Personal: Son of Nilsa Tavarez-Gomera and Bernardo Gomera...has an older sister, Camile...born on Aug. 21, 1998.

Ryan Goncalves (Dix Hills, N.Y. /St. Anthony/South Huntington SC)

At St. Anthony: Played four seasons of varsity soccer, scoring 24 goals and tallying 18 assists as a center midfielder...leading goal scorer in 2012, 2013 and 2015, winning the New York State championship and league championship during his career...two-year letterwinner...earned NSCHSAA All-League, All-State and All-Long Island awards...three-time State Cup Champion with his club team, South Huntington Lightning...earned honor-roll status each of his four years...member of the National Honor Society and Support Our Troops.

Personal: Son of Liz and Manny Goncalves...has two older sisters, Kristen and Katie...born on July 19, 1998.

Joseph Gordon (Freehold N.J. / Christian Brothers Academy/NJCSA)

At Christian Brothers Academy: Played center midfielder for the varsity team as a sophomore and was a division champion that year before committing full time to NJCSA of the US Soccer Developmental Academy...has participated in games against Manchester City, Leicester FC and West Ham United youth academy teams...2015 Super-Y National Camp Invitee...earned honor roll in every semester at Christian Brothers Academy...recipient of the Epitome of the Academy Award...volunteers to be a CCD teacher and for the Best Day Foundation.

Personal: Son of Laura and Joseph Gordon...has two older siblings, Brittany and Tyler...born on May 6, 1998.

Jamie Hill (Crowthorne, Berkshire, England /Edgbarrow School)

At Edgbarrow School: Played Premier League Academy Soccer for Portsmouth FC, Reading FC and Stoke City FC...Played in tournaments for Portsmouth FC in Belgium and France...Played soccer, rugby, tennis, track and field and cricket during his career at Edgbarrow captain for a three-time County Cup winner...was selected to the U18 ESFA Schoolboy team...awarded Edgbarrow School Daines Trophy for PE for outstanding contribution to sport...honored for outstanding achievement in Geography...volunteer coach for soccer in Ghana.

Personal: Son of Daphne and David Hill...has two brothers, Scott and Callum...born on Oct. 24, 1996.

Karim Hussamy (Vero Beach, Fla. /St. Edwards/FC Florida)

At St. Edwards/IMG Academy: Three years as a starting center midfielder and a district captain during his senior year...plays club soccer for FC Florida...IMG Showcase champion, IMG Cup Champion and State Cup runner up...earned Deans List, Headmasters' High Honor Roll and was an AP scholar during his career...Founder of Gear for Change, which donates soccer equipment...Volunteer for Special Olympics and Relay for Life.

Personal: Son of Carole and Omar Hussamy...has three siblings, Tarek, Hannah and Amira...born on July 10, 1997.

Colin Morrissey (Far Hills, N.J. / Ridge/Jersey United SC)

At Ridge: Four years as a starting defender...2014 Second-Team All-Conference and 2015 First-Team captain...three-time letterwinner with All-County honorable mention...plays club soccer for Jersey United SC...participated in the Maccabi Games...Part of the Jazz Band, School Band, Green Club and Operation Smile...Vice President for Temple Youth Group...Senator of the Student Government...Peer Leader for Project Adventure...National Honor Society member...earned honor roll three years...volunteered as a student teacher at Temple B'nai Or.

Dylan Royalty (Columbia, Md. /Atholton/SAC)

At Atholton: Played three years of varsity soccer, scoring 25 goals and registering 16 assists as a forward...named Offensive MVP and First-Team All-County in 2014 and captain...named First-Team Baltimore Sun All-Metro, honorable mention Washington Post All-Metro and Second-Team All-State...plays club soccer for SAC Premier...State Cup Champion in 2013 and State Cup finalist in 2015...earned honor roll and Maryland Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Award all four years...Vice-President of the Future Business Leaders of America organization...Co-President of the Student Leadership Cadre...volunteer for the Howard County Special Olympics.

Justin Soto (Bellevue, Wash. /Lake Washington/Eastside FC)

At Lake Washington: Played three years of varsity soccer at center back and striker...earned a varsity letter each year...First-Team honoree, Lake Washington MVP and Lake Washington Captain in 2015...plays club soccer for Eastside FC...member of the 1998 Region IV team...earned Academic Honor Roll for three years...AP Scholar and high honor roll for one...Member of the National Honor Society and International Club...volunteer for Lake Washington High School tutoring and treasurer for STEM for Minorities.

Personal: Son of Tonia and Richard Soto, who both attended Lafayette...Richard played basketball and Tonia participated in track and field...born on Oct. 20, 1998.

Evan Vare (Jamison Pa. /Central Bucks East/Lehigh Valley United)

At Central Bucks East: Played four years of varsity soccer...scored 42 goals and led his team to an undefeated season in his senior year...two-time District 1 Champion and 2015 PIAA AAA State Champion...2014 and 2015 All-State, Regional All-American, and Philadelphia Inquirer Player of the Year...2015 NSCAA National All-American, NSCAA/PSCA State Player of the Year...plays club soccer for Lehigh Valley United...2015-16 USYS National League leading scorer and National Championship qualifiers...earned honor roll all four years...member of the National Honor Society...volunteers through school working with non-profit organizations.
