VILLANOVA, Pa. - Sophomore Sean Peckham scored for the second straight game, and senior goalkeeper Andrew Pianko made nine saves as the Lafayette men's soccer team played host Villanova to a 1-1 draw on Friday afternoon. Peckham's tally, his second of the season, came in the 17th minute with sophomore Josh Brown notching the assist.

The Wildcats are the first team to keep Lafayette out of the win column this season, though the Leopards remain unbeaten at 3-0-1. Villanova is now 1-1-1 on the young 2010 campaign.

Peckham's goal started the scoring, as the sophomore headed home a cross from Brown at the 16:17 mark in the first half. Peckham is the first Leopard to notch multiple goals this season; five other Lafayette players have picked up one goal apiece in the team's first four contests.

The equalizing tally came just before the intermission on an unassisted strike from Matt Margiotta in the 41st minute. Neither team would find the net in the second half or in either of the 10-minute overtime periods as the 1-1 score held up for a tie.

Pianko stopped all six shots he saw after that goal - bringing his total to nine for the match - to preserve the draw. The reigning BRINE Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week has played all 380 minutes in net for the Leopards this season, allowing just three goals in that span for a 0.71 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.

Chris Bresnahan went the distance in net for Villanova, allowing one goal and making three saves.

The Leopards are back in action on Sunday, traveling to Philadelphia for a contest with Ivy League opponent Penn.
