2011 was the second season for Michael Hurley on the Lafayette sidelines. Hurley brings a wealth of coaching experience at the youth level to College Hill.
Hurley is currently a member of the coaching staff at NJSA 04 (New Jersey Soccer Academy), a USSF Developmental Academy Club. He is the head coach of NJSA 04 River Plate (U17) and led the NJSA 04 USSF '94 DP Team that played in the Walt Disney World Tournament in 2011. He is also an assistant coach for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy U15/16 club. Hurley also spent 2011 as head coach and business development manager for the Peak Performance Soccer Academy and was an instructor at the Villanova University Soccer Camp.
Hurley previously coached for three years with the Ocean Soccer Club and also coached with the Neptune Soccer Club and at the Northwestern University College Soccer Training Center.
Hurley had both a standout high school and collegiate playing career. He was an all-state player at Neptune (N.J.) High School, where he won the 1981 state championship and is a charter member of school's hall of fame. Hurley attended Richard Stockton College and was a four-year starter and team captain. He earned All-NJAC honors twice during his career and graduated in 1985 with a degree in Computer Science.
Currently, Hurley is a senior account manager at Global Crossing and has worked in telecommunications for over 20 years. He has two children, Kyle and Shane, and resides in Wall, N.J.
