Brian Gill is in his second year as assistant coach at Lafayette. Gill serves as the team's goalkeeper coach and under Gill's guidance, the Lafayette goalkeepers combined for 10 shutouts in 2007. Gill also assists in all other aspects of the team.
Before coming to Lafayette, Gill spent three seasons as assistant coach at his alma mater, Rider University where he was responsible for coaching the goalkeepers and assisting with scouting and recruiting. During his collegiate career, the 2004 graduate was a standout goalkeeper for the Broncs and was named MVP as a junior and a senior. He also helped his team reach the MAAC championship game in 2000 and 2003 as a player, and in 2004 as a coach. Gill graduated magna cum laude with a degree in secondary education and history.
Gill went on to play professionally as a member of the Brooklyn Knights of the USL's Premier Development League from 2001-03 and possesses NSCAA state, regional and national goalkeeper licenses and a USSF "D" coaching license.
"Brian brings with him coaching and playing experiences at the high school, collegiate and professional levels," said Lafayette head coach Dennis Bohn. "His area of concentration will be on goalkeeping, something that will be especially important this season with the graduation of our starting keeper."
The Smithtown, N.Y. native also spent five seasons on the coaching staff of MatchFit Academy FC, and for the last two years has worked as an assistant coach and goalie trainer for New Jersey ODP.
