EASTON, Pa. - Former Lafayette men's lacrosse standout Tom Perini '11 has been claimed by the Rochester Rattlers from the Major League Lacrosse player pool. Perini, a Huntington, N.Y. native, becomes the second Lafayette player to join a Major League Lacrosse roster after Steve Serling '10 was the ninth overall selection in the 2011 draft by the Denver Outlaws.

"I am thrilled that the Rochester Rattlers have added Tom to their roster for 2012," Lafayette head coach Terry Mangan said. "I think the way Tom plays and sees the game is a good fit for the style of the professional game, and his energy and enthusiasm will be a great asset as well."

Perini graduated in May with a degree in Economics and Business and completed his career as the all-time leading scorer at Lafayette. His 127 goals placed him in a tie for fourth all-time in the Patriot League record books. He was the 2008 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, earned First-Team All-Patriot League recognition in 2010 and was a Second-Team honoree in 2011. The attackman was named a Scholar All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) following the 2011 season.

The Rochester Rattlers open their 2012 Major League Lacrosse season on Friday, April 28, at the Boston Cannons.
