Doctor Drafted by Major League Lacrosse's Rochester Rattlers
Dec. 10, 2007
EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette assistant men's lacrosse coach Chris Doctor was recently drafted by the Rochester Rattlers in the 2007 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) supplemental draft. Doctor was a second round pick, the 18th overall selection.
"Being considered to play professional lacrosse is an honor of the highest level," Doctor said. "The Rochester Rattlers are a very talented team and I am excited for the opportunity to become a part of their organization and Major League Lacrosse."
Doctor will tryout in the upcoming months for the squad. His opportunity will not conflict with his Lafayette coaching responsibilities, as the MLL season runs during the summer months
Lafayette head coach Terry Mangan is elated for Doctor's chance to play professional lacrosse.
"Rochester was the regular season champs last year, so I think it says a lot about Chris that they used a second round pick on him," Mangan said. "I am sure Chris will make the most of this opportunity."
Lafayette opens the 2008 men's lacrosse season on Feb. 22, when the Leopards travel to Villanova.
