EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Andrew Geison has joined the Lafayette men's lacrosse coaching staff, head coach Terry Mangan has announced.

Geison comes to Lafayette from Rutgers University, where he was the volunteer assistant coach for the 2004 and 2005 seasons. The Scarlet Knights finished with an 8-5 record and an NCAA playoff berth two years ago. He was responsible for individual instruction of attackmen and defensemen, assisted with practice and game planning, film editing and scouting, and administrative duties.

"I am excited to add Andrew to our staff," Mangan said. "He has gained experience and knowledge working with Jim Stagnitta at Rutgers for the past two years, and Andrew will play a big part in our program moving forward."

He earned his Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers in May 2005. Geison completed his undergraduate work at the University of Maryland in College Park, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 1999.

Geison has head coaching experience at the high school level at Marin Catholic in Kentfield, California. He inherited a second-year program in the fall of 2000 and led his team to three consecutive winning seasons, including a conference championship in 2003.

While at Marin Catholic, Geison coached two high school All-Americans and a number of collegiate lacrosse players. He also put his degree to work, serving as the Director of Physical Education and assisting the classroom teacher at Burt Children's Center, a residential facility for severely emotionally disturbed children from six to 14 years of age.
