Twenty Men's Lacrosse Players Named to Patriot League Honor Roll

EASTON, Pa. - The 2008-09 Lafayette men's lacrosse team reaped the benefits of hard work off the field as twenty student-athletes were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll on Thursday afternoon.
Junior Mechanical Engineering major Jason Montoya had a team-high 3.8 grade-point average (GPA) for the spring semester. Montoya, a Seattle, Wash. native, was joined by four additional juniors. Matt Beck, a junior Economics and Business major, finished the semester with a 3.32 GPA and junior Government and Law major Ed Daley posted a 3.67 GPA for the semester. Both Daley and Beck spent time abroad this fall in Spain while pursuing their degrees. Kevin Dunbar and Stewart Inman were the final two members of the junior class who were honored.
Senior Sean Halloran, an Economics and Business major, finished with a 3.76 GPA. The Pennsylvania native spent time in London for the January interim session. Fellow senior and Economics and Business major Matt Mozer was also recognized by the Patriot League. Mozer, who interned with Cameron Associates in New York City this past January, completed the semester with a 3.3 GPA while Government and Law major Alex Heller finished with a 3.56 GPA.
The sophomore class, who boasted nine representatives on the honor roll, portrayed a high level of dedication in the classroom. Ryan Hansen, a, Economics and Business and Government and Law double-major, posted a 3.77 GPA while Neuroscience major Will Parker finished with a 3.75. Parker spent time as an intern this January at the Washington Hospital Center. Spencer Philpot, Connor Brennan, Stefan Bauer, Andrew Fullen, Tyler Silvey and Ryan Stanley were also named to the list. Economics and Business major Eric Teschemacher recorded a 3.32 GPA and interned with CitiGroup in January 2009.
Freshmen Rob Glascott, Doug Prusoff and Will Heffernan were also named to the honor roll. The Leopards had the second-most recipients named to the list in the league.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 GPA in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's 16 winter or spring championship sports. The criteria for awarding varsity letters is different at each institution.
