April 25, 2012
EASTON, Pa. -
Doug Prusoff and Jake Hyatt were two of 14 Patriot League men’s lacrosse student-athletes named to the Academic All-League Team announced by the conference on Wednesday. The team is voted upon by the league’s sports information directors.
To be eligible for the Patriot League Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.
“Doug played his best lacrosse for us this past spring, and that combined with his leadership has been a huge part of our team,” head coach Terry Mangan said. “Jake steadily improved this year and stayed healthy, and I think the best is yet to come for him. I am proud of both of them and their hard work on the field and in the classroom has definitely paid off.”
Prusoff, who started every game in 2012, tied for third on the team with 13 goals and also contributed two assists during his senior season. An American Studies major, Prusoff has a 3.54 cumulative GPA and served as the Co-chair of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, while also representing the Patriot League on the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Prusoff is also a three-time Patriot League Acacdemic Honor Roll selection.
A sophomore with a 3.60 overall GPA, Hyatt started in nine games and played in 12 for Lafayette this season. The Engineering major posted a 10.44 goals-against average and made 95 saves on the year. Hyatt’s best performances came in back-to-back contests against Marist and Georgetown, when he made 15 saves in each game.
