Game Preview
Lafayette plays host to the Bears of Mercer Friday night at Fisher Stadium. The Maroon and White enter the contest with a 1-6 mark, while the Bears hold a 4-3 record. Opening faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m. The game can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

Scouting the Bears
Mercer enters Friday on a two-game win streak following wins over VMI and High Point. As a team, they have tallied 69 goals on 151 shots on goal. Senior Zack Ward leads the Bears in goals with 17 and has added five assists for a team-high 22 points. Sophomore Chris Baxa and freshman James Tautkus have netted 12 and 10 goals, respectively. 18 different players have registered at least one goal, while 15 have handed out at least one assist. Justin Evans has won 81 of 157 faceoffs helping him scoop up a team-leading 49 ground balls. Mike Nugent has started six of seven contests between the pipes allowing 9.04 goals per game while making 64 saves.

Coaching Matchup
The Leopards are coached by Jim Rogalski in his second season on College Hill. Rogalski has a 22-30 career mark after going 18-15 in two seasons at Scranton prior to last season's 3-10 campaign. Kyle Hannan is in his second season at the helm of the Mercer program. He holds a career 487-133 record, including an 8-11 mark with the Bears.

Against Mercer
Friday's contest marks the first ever meeting between the schools.

Leopards' Attack
Sonny Round leads the team in points with 13 on a team-high eight assists and five goals. Brian Bock's eight goals have set the pace for the Maroon and White scoring effort, while Robert Orazietti is second on the team with seven goals. John Floyd and Morgan Westby have each tallied four goals for the Leopards.

Defensive Stand
Mac Ahsler has been key to the Maroon and White defense, causing a team-high 11 turnovers and scooping up 19 ground balls. Erik Cannon leads the Maroon and White in ground balls corralling 20. Jake Hyatt has start six of seven games in the cage holding a 12.66 goals against average and a .507 save percentage. Hyatt leads the Patriot League in saves per game, making 11.67 per game.

Around the Patriot League
Top ranked Loyola sits atop the Patriot League standings with a 4-0 league mark. No. 17/19 Colgate and Army have each posted 3-1 league records, while Lehigh and Bucknell sit just a half game back at 3-2. Navy holds a 2-3 mark in league play with Boston University and Lafayette each holding one win. Holy Cross has yet to find its first league victory.

What's Next?
The Leopards hit the road for a Tuesday matinee with Monmouth. Game time is slated for 3 p.m.
