Freshman Leads Leopards at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Lafayette freshman Jared Mactas tied for 13th at the Bucknell Fall Invitational, leading Lafayette to a seventh-place finish in the 13-team field. Mactas shot three rounds in the 70s (74-78-74--226) to lead the Leopards on the par-70, 6,232-yard Bucknell Golf Club.
Dartmouth (875) won the event, while Laval (879) was second, Colgate (898) finished third and host Bucknell (904) ended up fourth. Julien Marchand of Laval defeated Joe Maziar of Dartmouth in a playoff.
Lafayette's Chad Bell (72-75-82--229) tied for 26th while Phil Rosengarden (69-80-82--231) provided the highlight of the tournament with a hole-in-one on the par-3, 125-yard 16th hole in the opening round en route to the first round lead.
Lafayette will compete in the Cornell Fall Invitational Sept. 21-22 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.
