The Lafayette golf program is set to host the 2017 Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational at Silver Creek Country Club starting Saturday, April 1 with a practice round and continuing with the opening round on Sunday, April 2 and final round on Monday, April 3. The field features 18 teams, including Patriot League foes Colgate, Holy Cross and Lehigh as well as Bryant, Canisius, Drexel, Fordham, Hofstra, Manhattan, Monmouth, Niagara, Rider, Robert Morris, Saint Peter's, Villanova, Wagner and UConn.
Silver Creek Country Club's championship course is a 6,655-yard, par-72 loop that was established in 1934. The course was designed by famed golf course architect Donald Ross. The facility features a practice putting green, a short range practice area and a practice range with yardage markers from 50 to 275 yards.
Sunday's opening round will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a shotgun start. Monday's final round starts at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start.
The Leopards are coming off a 14th-place finish at the Towson Spring Invitational at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Md.
