Leopard Freshman Earns Co-Champion Honors at Navy Fall Classic

Lafayette freshman Reid Bedell finished at 3-under par 68 to earn co-champion honors and lead Lafayette to a tie for 7th place in the rain-shortened Navy Fall Classic. Wagner won the event with a 1-under team total of 283 on the 6,611-yard, par-71 Naval Academy Golf Course.
Robert Morris (+4) took second place in the team standings while California, Pa. (+6) took third and Drexel (+9), Delaware (+9) and host Navy (+9) finished in a three-way tie for fourth place. Lafayette and Niagara tied for seventh place at +11.
Bedell tied for the overall individual title with Navy senior Connor Tallman.
In addition to Bedell, Lafayette's B squad included Will Halamandaris (T25; 74), Patrick McGinley (T34; 75), Drew Petri (T54; 78) and Jake Basilico (T71; 80). Lafayette's A squad finished 11th and included James Frahm (T34; 75), Ben Perrine (T34; 75), Chad Bell (T44; 76), Jack Reilly (T71; 80) and James Croney (86th; 87). Ryan Krechel competed as an individual and finished T34th with a 75.
The Leopards will compete in the Patriot Collegiated hosted by George Mason this coming Sunday and Monday following a practice round on Saturday. The event will be played at Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, Va.
