Leopards Finish 18th at Navy Invitational

Competing in its final competition before the Patriot League Championship, Lafayette moved up to 18th place in the second and final round of the 2013 Navy Spring Invitational. Mike Zausmer paced the Leopards, finishing in a tie for 55th place after recording a 77-80--157.
Penn and Virginia tied for the team title at 31-over on the par-71, 6,611-yard Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md., finishing 43 strokes better than Lafayette (+74).
The Leoaprds will compete in the Patriot League Championship this coming weekend - April 27-28 - at Saucon Valley Country Club's Grace Course.
Other Patriot League teams in the field include host Navy (T7th at +41), Lehigh (13th at +59), Bucknell (16th at +67) and Colgate (21st at +90).
Rounding out the top five in the two-round competition were Virginia Tech (T3rd at +33), Wake Forest (T3rd at +33) and LIU-Brooklyn (5th at +35).
Towson's Joe Gunerman topped the individual leaderboard with a two-over 144 after carding a two-under 69 to edge Wake Forest's Evan Beck and Virginia Tech's Trevor Cone by just one stroke.
