CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette finished 11th out of a 21-team field in the only day of the Lafayette College Spring Invitational at the Center Valley Club on Sunday afternoon. Senior Tom Palmer paced the team with a three-over-par effort to finish 13th among 110 golfers. It was Palmers highest finish of the spring season, which bodes well for the veteran heading down the stretch into the Patriot League Tournament beginning on April 21.

Juniors Dave Rahal and Kyle Manjuck represented the Leopards next top two finishers with rounds of 79 and 80, respectively.

After rain and poor conditions forced day one of the invite to be cancelled, Center Valley's par-72, 6,916-yard course provided a splendid backdrop for Sunday's campaign. Duquesne's Drew Ellis won the event, carding a one-under-par 71. Palmer was among 14 players to inch within three strokes of the lead.

Siena took home the title with a 300 overall, while St. Francis (Pa.) and St. Bonaventure took second and third with 303 and 305, respectively.

Lafayette hits the green again this weekend, as the team heads to Annapolis, Md. for the Navy Spring Invite. The Leopards will play the Naval Academy Course, which will also serve as the site for the league tournament in two weeks.
