Lafayette's A team moved up five spots in the final round of the 2013 Lafayette Invitational to finish 9th in the 18-team field. The Leopards were led in the 11th annual event by freshman Travis Ricca's 18th-place finish as he recorded a four-over 76 for the second straight day on the par-72, 6,548-yard layout at Northampton Country Club.

Lehigh captured the team title at the 11th annual event with a 294, bettering its opening round (303) by nine strokes and finishing seven strokes ahead of Drexel (307-297--604). Iona finished third at 312-293--605, Central Connecticut State (303-304--607) was fourth and Army (305-305--610) and Hofstra (307-303--610) tied for fifth.

Christopher Crawford of Drexel was the tournament's medalist with a one-under 143 (72-71), edging Central Connecticut State's Monte Mullen (74-70--144) by one stroke. Hofstra's Brandon Shin was third at 72-73--145 while Lehigh's Harley Abrams (77-69--146) and Hofstra's David Mecca (74-72-146) tied for fourth.

The team scores for Lafayette's A team included Mike Zausmer (T22, 77-76--153), Peter Gross (T33, 76-80--156), Chad Bell (T40, 80-77--157), Doug Fernandez (T56, 84-76--160) and David Kafafian (T61, 84-77--161).

Lafayette's B team finished 15th and included Phil Rosengarden (T33, 75-81--156), Patrick Luther (T43, 76-82--158), Josh Feinberg (T77, 78-86--164) and Ben DeForest (T77, 82-82--164).

The Leopards next compete in a Monmouth quad match on April 17, next in the Navy Invitational on April 20-21 at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Md. and will then compete in the Patriot League Championships on April 27-28 at Saucon Valley Country Club's Grace Course in Bethlehem, Pa.
