Leopards 15th After Day 1 of FAU Invite

The Lafayette golf team stands in 15th place after the opening round of the Florida Atlantic University Spring Break Championship, led by junior Mike Zausmer who carded a nine-over 80 on the 6,876-yard, par-71 North Course at The Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth, Fla.
Second round action begins Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Georgia Southern leads the team scoring with a six-under 278, while 6th-ranked Central Florida sits in second at one-over 285. Lafayette finished with a team score of 327.
Individually, Zausmer sits in a tie for 58th place, 13 shots back of day-one leader Ricardoi Gouveia who fired a four-under 67.
Sophomore Travis Ricca and freshman Garrett Sweeney are tied for 66th after each carded a 10-over 81 while junior Doug Fernandez is tied for 78th after firing an 85 and freshman Jared Mactas is in 81st place after shooting an 87. Leopard junior Bob Dyer is competing as an individual at this event and is tied for 76th after carding an 84 in the opening round.
