Carter Rufe Takes Medalist Honors

2011-12: In his only action of the spring, shot a 175 (97-78) at the Lafayette Spring Invitational, tying for 80th place...Made his collegiate debut at the Navy Classic (9/10-9/11) shooting a five-over 147 (71-76), good enough for a tie for 19th as an individual scorer...Shot a 14 over par at the Cornell Invitational (9/24-9/25) posting a 230 combined score (78-72-80)...Tied for 47th at the Barnabus Health Intercollegiate Tournament (10/15-10/16) posting a 79 on both days for a combined score of 158.

At Staples:
Four-year letterwinner in golf, also played one season of football...team captain as a junior and senior...had a 37 stroke nine-hole average during his high school career...earned medalist honors at the FCIAC Championship with a score of 71...took third overall at the State Championship carding a 73...two-time all-state and three-time all-conference honoree...led team to two Division I State Championships...member of the AJGA and took 10th at the Lessing's AJGA Classic at Long Island National with a three-round total of 219 (71-74-74)...First honors student, earned the German Excellence Award and the Staples Student-Athlete award.
