Bryant Named to STATS FCS All-America Team

Dec. 19, 2017

EASTON, Pa. – Senior Brandon Bryant was named to the STATS FCS All-America Third-Team defense on Tuesday afternoon.

The award is another in a long list of accomplishments for the linebacker from Cherry Hill, N.J. On Dec. 12, he and Phillip Parham were selected to the Associated Press FCS All-America Team Second-Team defense. Phil Steele tabbed him to its All-America Team on Dec. 15, honoring him with a spot on the third-team defense. That same day he was named the Hero Sports FCS Comeback Player of the Year.

Bryant finished his senior campaign ranked third in the nation in tackles per game (12.1) and ninth in solo tackles per game (6.3), coming off a 2016 season shortened by knee injury. The team captain and All-Patriot League First-Team honoree made 133 tackles, the most since 2005, including a career-high 19 tackles against Harvard. He was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week three times in 2017.

Parham, also an All-Patriot League First-Team honoree, led the nation in interceptions per game, recording seven picks in 11 starts, and passes defended (12 pass breakups). His seven interceptions were spread out over seven games. He finished fifth on the team in tackles with 56, playing in 39 career games with 33 starts.
