Field Hockey Seedings Set for Patriot League Tournament

Easton, Pa - The seedings for the Patriot League Tournament have been finalized and American, Bucknell, Lafayette and Lehigh have advanced to the post-season. The Lafayette field hockey team will take on No. 2 seed Bucknell in its semi-final matchup on Friday afternoon.

American wrapped up the No. 1 seed with a 5-1 record in league play and the right to host the tournament. Lafayette, Lehigh and Holy Cross were in a three-way tie for third place with 2-2 records, but Holy Cross was eliminated from the post-season action with a loss to Bucknell on Saturday.

Lafayette (3-2) is seeded No. 3 after securing a 3-0 victory against Colgate over the weekend. Lehigh locked up the No. 4 seed when Bucknell defeated Holy Cross Saturday. The Mountain Hawks, at 2-3, won the tie-breaker against the Crusaders due to Lehigh's regular-season win over Holy Cross.

The schedule for the Tournament is as follows: Semifinal: No. 1 American vs. No. 4 Lehigh, Friday 11:00 a.m. Semifinal: No. 2 Bucknell vs. No. 3 Lafayette, Friday 1:30 p.m. Championship Game: Semifinal winners, Saturday 1:30 p.m.

All games will be played at the William I. Jacobs Recreational Complex in Washington D.C.
