EASTON, Pa. - Junior placekicker Davis Rodriguez has been named the Patriot League Football Special Teams Player of the Week. Rodriguez made a pair of field goals late in the second quarter and connected on each of his extra-point tries in Lafayette's 26-21 win over Fordham.

Rodriguez hit from 21 yards out then nailed his longest field goal of the season, a 42-yarder to give Lafayette a 13-7 lead just three seconds before halftime. It is his second Special Teams award of the season and ties a League record with the fourth of his career.

Rodriguez earned Sports Network Preseason All-America Second-Team Honors prior to the 2009 season and was an honorable mention selection from the same media organization following the 2008 campaign.

Academically, Rodriguez is a Government and Law major. He is enrolled in four courses this semester: African Cultural Institutions, Early American Political Thought, Introduction to Psychology with a lab, and Religion, Myth & Fantasy.

The Leopards are 6-1 for the second straight season and are receiving votes in both of the Top 25 polls. Lafayette hosts Patriot League foe Bucknell on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Fisher Stadium. Lafayette is looking for its eighth straight victory over the Bison.
