Gralish Garners Patriot League Rookie of the Week Honors

Sept. 17, 2012

EASTON, Pa. - Freshman Ryan Gralish (Mars, Pa./Mars) has been selected as the Patriot League Football Rookie of the Week for the first time in his career.

The 6-1, 215-pound Gralish took over the placekicking duties in just his second collegiate game, converting four extra points in the Leopards' 28-21 win over Penn on Sept. 15. Gralish also handled kick-off duties for the second straight game, averaging 62 yards on five kicks against Penn.

He is named Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the first time in his brief career, coming one week after fellow freshman Jamel Smith took home Rookie of the Week honors after a season-opening win at William & Mary.

The Leopards (2-0), who are receiving votes in both Top 25 polls, return to action and begin Patriot League play on Saturday at Bucknell (1-1). Kick-off is set for noon in a game that will be televised nationally by CBS Sports Network.
