Lafayette Announces Participation in National 'Take a Kid to the Game' Football Program

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Area youngsters will have an opportunity to experience the college game-day atmosphere when Lafayette hosts NCAA football's annual "Take a Kid to the Game" program this Saturday, September 9, 2000. Kids, ages 17 and younger, will receive free admission to watch the Leopards take on Towson University at Fisher Field in a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
Free admission will be granted to members of youth groups age 17 and under who register in front of Alumni Gymnasium and are wearing their team jersey, jacket, etc.
"We are very excited to be participating in the NCAA Take a Kid to the Game Initiative," said first-year Lafayette head football coach Frank Tavani. "I hope that all of the young kids in the Lehigh Valley take advantage of this opportunity to experience the one-of-a-kind atmosphere that is NCAA Football."
Lafayette College is one of more than 150 schools across the nation that are participating in this campaign focused on attracting more of the nation's youths to college games. The "Take a Kid to the Game" program is in its sixth year in the promotion of NCAA Athletics.
Tickets for those age 18 and over to attend this special game can be purchased through Leopard FANSeats, Lafayette's online ticketing solution, at the Lafayette ticket office in the Kirby Sports Center, or by calling the ticket office at (610) 330-5471.
The "Take a Kid to the Game" program is one of the national promotions of NCAA Football, the marketing arm of college football. NCAA Football represents a coalition of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and the Conference Commissioners Association.
