EASTON, Pa. - Three Lafayette football players have earned preseason honorable mention status from College Sporting News as chosen by the organization's 10-member staff.

Senior DL Andrew Poulson, senior OL Brian Wycinowski and junior PK Davis Rodriguez achieved the status. Fourteen conferences, 70 schools and 166 players receive preseason NCAA honors from College Sporting News.

Poulson is serving as a team captain and enters his third year as a starter. He made 27 tackles in 2008, five for loss.

Wycinowski looks to be a starter on the O line for the second straight year and will lead the way for a talented corps of tailbacks. He started 11 games as a junior.

Rodriguez is in his third year as the team's place kicker. He was an All-Patriot League Second-Team selection in 2008, making 13-of-15 field goals and 32-of-33 PATs.

Lafayette opens the season Sept. 12 at Georgetown.
