Scheuerman Selected for FCS Preseason All-America Team

EASTON, Pa. - Senior tailback Ross Scheuerman has been named to The Sports Network FCS Preseason All-America Team that was announced on Tuesday.

In his third season as a starter, Scheuerman rushed for a career-best 1,113 yards while leading Lafayette to the 2013 Patriot League title. His 14 rushing touchdowns were the sixth most in a season on College Hill. Scheuerman was also a receiving threat out of the backfield and the slot, snagging 31 balls for 337 yards and four touchdowns.

Scheuerman, who was selected as an all-purpose player on the FCS Second Team, led the Patriot League in all-purpose yards (rushing, receiving, return yards combined), averaging 160 per game. He was one of eight Patriot League players selected to the three FCS Preseason All-America Teams selected by The Sports Network.

The three-time All-Patriot League Second-Team honoree ranks as the program's eighth all-time leading rusher with 2,313 yards and 19 career rushing touchdowns.

The Leopards open the 2014 season Sept. 6 at Sacred Heart, facing one of two teams on the 2014 Lafayette ledger which also qualified for the 2013 FCS Playoffs.
