EASTON, Pa. - Senior defensive lineman Rick Lyster has been named an All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

The honor recognizes the student-athlete's dedication to strength training and conditioning. Lyster was one of 229 collegiate and high school athletes from 98 schools recognized by the NSCA. The awards program is in its 34th year.

"Simply put, he is the hardest working human being I have ever been around in 13 years of playing/coaching college athletics," said Lafayette Director of Sports Performance, Brad Potts who selected Lyster for the award.

The Ocean, N.J. native served as co-captain during his senior season, garnering team defensive line MVP honors along with All-Patriot League First-Team status. Lyster recorded 54 tackles and three sacks in 2013 and finished his Lafayette career with 107 tackles, seven sacks and an interception.
