Former Leopard to Be Inducted Into National Football Foundation Hall of Fame
May 7, 2008
EASTON, Pa. - Former Lafayette tailback Erik Marsh '95 is one of eight honorees who will be inducted into the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame at a dinner on May 9 at the Northampton Community Center. "It's a well-deserved award and the whole Lafayette football staff is very proud of him," said head coach Frank Tavani, who served as the tailbacks' coach during Marsh's time on College Hill. Marsh was a four-year starter at tailback for the Leopards where he racked up 4,834 yards to become the Lafayette and Patriot League all-time leading rusher. The two-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year also set a school and league record for single-game rushing attempts (46). Marsh holds the Lafayette record for single-season rushing yardage (1,441). The All-American helped lead his team to Patriot League titles in 1992 and 1994. Lafayette College's Maroon Club inducted Marsh into its Hall of Fame in 2001 and then selected him as one of 15 Greatest Athletes of the Century. "It's a wonderful honor and I'm humbled by it," Marsh said. "It's going to be a great time for me because it's an opportunity to thank the people who were influential in my athletic and academic career both at Lafayette and at Bethlehem Catholic." Marsh has his real-estate license and owns his own real-estate investment company in the Lehigh Valley.
