EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette will host the third annual Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 4 at the Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex.

The camp is one-day, non-contact clinic open to students entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2006. The minimum donation is $25, with all of the proceeds from the camp directly benefiting Lauren's First and Goal Foundation. The foundation supports pediatric brain tumor research and pediatric cancer services in the Lehigh Valley.

"We had a great response to last year's camp, and we're already ahead of where we were last year in terms of registrations and coaches committed to work the camp," said John Loose, Lafayette's defensive coordinator and director of Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp. "This is a great opportunity for the kids to be exposed to college coaching and the whole event is for a great cause."

The camp is staffed by coaches representing NCAA Division I, II and III institutions, all of whom will volunteer their time. A guest speaker will also talk with the players during lunch; last year's speaker was John Harbaugh, special teams coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles. Bobby Ross, the head football coach at Army, was the speaker at the inaugural event in 2004.

Last year Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp raised over $74,000 to benefit pediatric brain tumor research and cancer services in the Lehigh Valley. Over 100 college coaches and 750 players took part in last year's clinic.

Camp registration forms are available on Lafayette's athletics website, www.goleopards.com, and at www.laurensfirstandgoal.org. For more information, call the Lafayette football office at 610-330-5485 or 610-330-5838, or email firstandgoal@rcn.com.
