Brecht Named Patriot League Football Rookie

EASTON, PA - Lafayette College freshman placekicker Martin Brecht (Jeannette, PA/Greensburg Central Catholic) was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week today for his performance in the Leopards' 38-13 victory over Marist this past Saturday.
Lafayette's starting placekicker the entire season, Brecht nailed a career-long 40-yard field goal to extend the Leopards' lead to 17-7 late in the first quarter of Saturday's win.
Brecht also converted five PAT attempts, raising his season total to 16-of-18. In fact, Brecht has now made good on 15 consecutive PAT attempts, and is five-of-seven in field goal attempts.
Lafayette, now 3-5 overall, returns to Patriot League action this
Saturday when Fordham visits Fisher Field for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff.
