Football coaching staff joins student-athletes in class
Former Notre Dame player and UConn Assistant will coach linebackers

Nick Lezynski is in his first season as the linebackers coach on John Garrett's Lafayette football staff.
Lezynski spent the last three seasons as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Connecticut under Bob Diaco. For 2014 and 2015, he worked with the offense and special teams before moving to the defensive side of the ball during the 2016 season. Prior to UConn, he was the assistant secondary coach at Holy Cross from 2012-13.
"I'm excited to announce the addition of Nick Lezynski to our team as the linebackers coach. Nick is a smart and energetic coach, with playing and coaching experience at the FBS level," said Garrett, the Fred M. Kirby II '42 Head Football Coach. "He has the versatility to coach linebackers and help in the secondary under the tutelage of Luke Thompson, our defensive coordinator. We are thrilled to have Nick be part of our team."
Lezynski is a 2011 graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he was a letterwinner and four-year member of the football program which played in the 2008 Hawaii Bowl, 2010 Sun Bowl and the 2011 Champs Sports Bowl. He earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Notre Dame and expects to complete his master's degree in Educational Psychology from Connecticut in 2017.
A native of Newtown, Pa., Lezynski is married to his wife, Jessica, and the couple has a daughter, Sloane.
