Mower Earns Patriot Weekly Honors

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette guard Jim Mower (Harleysville, Pa./St. Joseph's) was named the Patriot League's Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. The Economics and Business major picked up the program's first weekly accolade of the season.
Mower posted two of his best career performances last week. On Dec. 9 he scored a career-high 23 points to lead the Leopards to a 73-57 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on a 10-of-16 shooting. Three days later against Long Island, Mower topped his own scoring record by netting 25 points in the 77-63 win.
In addition to his work on the court, Mower is enrolled in intermediate microeconomics, college writing, intro world music traditions and religions in world cultures.
The sophomore has scored in double figures in eight of the 11 games so far this year and has led the team in scoring twice. The number that stands out the most for Mower is his assists/turnover ratio which is 3.57 (25/7).
Mower is the team's second-leading scorer with 13.1 points per game, is second in assists (25) and is shooting 89 percent from the line. He leads the league in three-point field goal percentage (51%) and is fifth in three-point field goals made (2.4 per game).
Lafayette (6-5) breaks for eight days to take finals before returning to action at St. Francis (N.Y.) on Dec. 22.
