Lindner Named Rookie of Week For Second Straight Week

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette freshman point guard Nick Lindner has been named the Patriot League Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the second straight week. Lindner averaged 20.5 points and 4.0 assists per game in a 2-0 week for the Leopards.
Lindner scored 17 points, including 13-of-14 at the free throw line, while dishing out three assists in a 77-65 win at Wagner on Dec. 3. He followed with a career-high 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field and 6-of-6 at the stripe in an 86-79 decision at Sacred Heart on Dec. 7. Lindner added five assists in the Leopards' third straight win, giving Lafayette consecutive non-conference road victories in December for the first time since 2007.
For the week, Lindner was 19-of-20 (95%) at the foul line and 10-of-16 (62.5%) from the field while also managing three steals with just one turnover in the two contests. For the season, Lindner is averaging 11.6 points and 4.1 assists per game while knocking down 88 percent (44-of-50) of his shots at the foul line. He has started seven of eight games in 2013-14.
The Leopards (3-5), who are currently taking a break from game action for final exams, return to action on Dec. 17, hosting Immaculata at 7 p.m. in Kirby Sports Center.
