Opening Tip

Lafayette takes on Sacred Heart looking to win its third consecutive game on Saturday afternoon at William H. Pitt Center. The Leopards earned their first victory last Saturday against Penn (79-76) before beating Wagner 77-65 in Staten Island.

The last time Lafayette won consecutive road games in December was in 2007. A win Saturday would give Lafayette two straight road wins and two straight victories against the Pioneers.

Seth Hinrichs is the second leading scorer in the Patriot League at 20.9 points per game and has scored 20 points in four games this season.

Bryce Scott leads the Patriot League in free throw shooting at 95.5 percent (21-22). Scott is also second on the team with 15.4 points per game.

Nick Lindner had his best all-around game against Yale. The freshman point guard scored a career-high 18 points, grabbed five rebounds and handed out five assists. Lindner was selected as the Patriot League’s Rookie of the Week and is averaging 12.5 points and four assists in the previous four games.

Nick Lindner went 13-of-14 at the free throw line in the win over Wagner. His 13 free throws were the most by a Lafayette player since Frank Barr ’01 made 15-of-17 against Colgate on Feb. 24, 2001.

Seth Hinrichs needs eight three-pointers to move into the top-10 all-time at Lafayette. He is eight shy of Craig Kowalda ’96, who occupies 10th on the career list.

The Leopards have a 10-day layoff for finals before returning to Kirby Sports Center to play Immaculata on Dec. 17. Lafayette closes out the month with games at St. Francis Brooklyn and Seton Hall.
