Patriot League Announces CBS Sports Network TV Schedule

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Patriot League and CBS Sports Network unveiled a basketball television schedule for the 2013 season Tuesday that showcases 13 men's and three women's contests, including both the Men and Women's Championship Game, and at least two Lafayette games.
The Patriot League Men's Basketball Championship will be televised on CBS Sports Network for the second year in a row on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m., with the Women's Basketball Championship set to be aired for the fourth year in a row on Saturday, March 16 at 6 p.m. In addition, CBS Sports Network will air both semifinal games of the Patriot League Men's Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 9 at 2:00 and 4:30 p.m.
Ten Patriot League men's basketball contests and two women's games will air on CBS Sports Network during the regular season, with the return of flex scheduling for the men's contests on the final two weekends. The coverage begins on the first weekend of Patriot League play with both defending champions playing their home opener. Men's champion Lehigh plays host to Holy Cross on Jan. 12 at 2 p.m., while two-time women's champion Navy welcomes Lafayette the next day at Noon.
Four additional Patriot League men's basketball games will be shown on January, beginning with the rivalry between Navy and Army at West Point on Jan. 20 at Noon. Lehigh is at Bucknell in a rematch of the 2012 Patriot League Championship on Jan. 23 at 6 p.m., and the teams will each appear again later in the week when the Bison visit Holy Cross on Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. and the Mountain Hawks host rival Lafayette on Jan. 27 at Noon.
The second half of the Patriot League schedule tips off with a women's game when Lehigh hosts Holy Cross on Feb. 10 at 2 p.m.
The men's schedule picks up with games on three consecutive days from Feb. 16-18. First, Army visits Navy in the annual Star Game on Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. The next day features American welcoming Holy Cross at Noon, and then it's the second meeting of the year between Bucknell and Lehigh from Bethlehem on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
The first men's basketball flex game follows on Feb. 24 at Noon, with another flex slot for the last day of the regular season on March 2 at Noon.
The selection of the flex contests will be made no later than 10 days prior to each of the competition dates. Every Patriot League game will be eligible for the broadcast windows on Feb. 24 and March 2.
Patriot League basketball teams open non-League action on Nov. 9, with the first League contests set for Jan. 12.
The Patriot League and CBS Sports Network are entering the second season of a multi-year deal announced in June 2011 in which the Network will air Patriot League men and women's basketball, men's lacrosse and football. CBS Sports Network will air Patriot League men and women's basketball for the fourth straight season. The Network will also provide full coverage of the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Tournament for the fourth consecutive year, with a minimum of four regular-season games also televised. CBS Sports Network is televising a pair of Patriot League football games in 2012, with the Colgate at Lehigh contest set for Nov. 10 after Lafayette's 20-14 win at Bucknell was shown on Sept. 22.
The Patriot League enters into its 10th straight year in partnership with CBS Sports Network.
