EASTON, Pa. - Levi Giese '13 and Tony Johnson '13, formerly of the Lafayette men's basketball program have signed new international contracts to play in Uruguay and Mexico, respectively.

Giese, following a brief stint professionally in Japan, has signed with Club Trouville in Montevideo, Uruguay. Previously, Lafayette's third-ranked shot-blocker in program history (109 blocked shots) competed for Bambitious Nara, an expansion team in the Basketball Japan League.

Johnson was the starting point guard for the SPM Shoeters Den Bosch in the Dutch Basketball League (DBL) a year ago and led his team to the finals of its league tournament. Finishing fourth all-time in steals (160) and sixth in assists (374) in Lafayette history, the Folsom, Calif. native signed with Fuerza Regia this week, located in Monterrey, Mexico.

In the DBL, Johnson averaged 9.1 points per game for Den Bosch, as well as 3.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game in 26.9 minutes per contest. He went 121-for-213 from the field (56.8%) and knocked down 25-of-78 shots from distance (32.1%).

The 2014-15 Leopards begin their season on Nov. 14 at Robert Morris.
