Men's Basketball Places Three on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

The Lafayette men's basketball team placed three student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Team captain and senior-to-be Michael Gruner has been named to the honor roll for the third straight year. Freshmen Rob Delaney and Andrew Moore also earned spots on the Honor Roll. Gruner, an Economics and Business major, posted a 3.57 GPA for the semester. Gruner, a Marquis Scholar, is awarded the opportunity to broaden his horizons while on Lafayette's campus through the programs use of co-curricular activities and field experiences. Gruner also serves as the Hoff Awards Committee Chair and is an intern for the Lafayette Leaders Education Committee. Gruner, who will enter his third season as a starter in 2009-10, averaged 8.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the Leopards in 2008-09.
Delaney, also an Economics and Business major, boasted a 3.67 semester GPA, the team's highest GPA for the 2008-09 season. A History major, Moore rounded out the list with a 3.42 semester GPA. In order for a student-athletes to be eligible, they must earn a minimum GPA of 3.2 in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter.
