EASTON, Pa. - Junior Jared Mintz (Toronto, Ontario/Vaughn Road Academy) has been named to the Jewish Sports Review All-America Basketball team while graduating senior Michael Gruner (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) has also been signaled out by the publication.

Mintz earned a spot on the First Team following a junior campaign when he earned All-Patriot League First-Team honors. The Toronto native was the first Patriot League player to lead the conference in field goal percentage (53.7%) and free throw percentage (87.3%) in the same season. He finished 27th in the nation in free throw shooting. Mintz led the team in scoring (14.1 ppg) and rebounding (5.7 rpg), scoring in double figures in 22 of the 31 games he played.

Mintz is joined on the team by Jon Scheyer (Duke), Derek Glasser (Arizona State), Sylven Landesberg (Virginia) and Zach Rosen (Penn).

Gruner collected honorable mention status, dubbed "The Bench" by the Jewish Sports Review. Gruner, who was one of nine players in the nation to achieve the distinction, never really spent any time on the bench in his career, as the senior co-captain was a three-year starter who played in 105 games. In his final campaign, the Marquis Scholar led the team with 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game while also contributing 7.0 ppg.

Gruner will graduate with a degree in Business and Economics later this month while Mintz, a Biology major, will return for his senior season and look to improve on a 2009-10 campaign during which the Leopards finished 19-13 overall, an 11-win improvement from the previous season, and advanced to the Patriot League Tournament championship game for the first time since 1999-2000.
