March 16, 2001 EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The audio broadcast of Lafayette's 1988 men's basketball victory over Notre Dame will be replayed this Monday, March 19, at 6:30 p.m. EST on WEST-AM 1400, the flagship radio station of the Lafayette Sports Network. The audio replay is a part of WEST-AM's 'Vintage Sports Broadcasts' series in celebration of the station's 65th anniversary. One of the most thrilling victories in Lafayette men's basketball history, the Lafayette-Notre Dame game on Jan. 4, 1988, still marks one of the largest crowds ever in Kirby Sports Center at 4,200. Otis Ellis '89 scored a career-high 35 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Leopards to a nationally-televised 83-68 upset of the eventual NCAA Tournament participants and their ballyhooed guard David Rivers.
