Ptasinski Named to Academic All-League Team

EASTON, Pa. – Sophomore guard Joey Ptasinski was selected to the Academic All-Patriot League Team, the League announced Wednesday. Ptasinski posted the highest grade-point average among the team’s five members.
A native of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Ptasinski carries a 3.51 cumulative GPA in Biology and averaged better than nine points per game for the Leopards. Ptasinski, who started 17 games this season, stepped into the sixth-man role during Patriot League play and finished second on the team with 58 made three pointers. Ptasinski was also second on the team with 35 takeaways, a number that slotted him seventh among Patriot League players.
The Academic All-Patriot League Team honors student-athletes who excel in their sport and the classroom, and the size equals the sport’s first-team All-Patriot League composition. Sports information directors, who are not allowed to vote for their own student-athletes, select the academic award winners.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
