EASTON, Pa. – Senior point guard Tony Johnson and sophomore guard Seth Hinrichs have been selected All-Patriot League First and Second Team, respectively, while freshman Bryce Scott played his way onto the Patriot League All-Rookie Team announced Monday.

Johnson finished the regular season as the conference’s leader in shooting percentage, after knocking down 55.7 percent (147-of-264) of his attempts on the year. He also leads the Patriot League in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1) and steals (2.0 per game), with his 63 overall thefts ranking 27th nationally. A unanimous First-Team choice, Johnson is also third in the conference with 4.8 assists per contest, fifth in free throw percentage (81.8%) and 11th in scoring (12.8 ppg).

Recently Johnson’s play has reached a whole new level as he has been more aggressive offensively during Lafayette’s late-season run, which helped the team lock up the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. His 22-point effort against American in the regular-season finale was his fourth 20-point game of the season, and he has averaged 21 points while shooting 68.5 percent (37-of-54) during Lafayette’s five-game winning streak. Johnson also had a flair for the dramatic during the stretch, hitting game-winning shots against Bucknell and Holy Cross in the final five seconds.

He also ends the regular season at No. 4 in the Lafayette record books with 158 career steals and third on the single-season list with his 63 this year. Assists-wise Johnson sits seventh in school history with 360 in his career, while his 148 helpers this season place him seventh on the single-season list.

Patriot League accolades are familiar to Johnson, who was named Player of the Week following his performances against Holy Cross and Lehigh in late February and was a Second-Team honoree as a junior in 2011-12.

A year after being named to the All-Rookie team, Hinrichs adds a Second Team All-Patriot League recognition to his résumé. The Minnesota native leads Lafayette, and is fifth in the conference, in scoring with 14.5 points per game.  His 73 three-pointers leads the League and 45.1 percent (73-of-162) from downtown ranks second. An area of Hinrichs’ game which improved greatly this season is rebounding, as the sophomore leads Lafayette with 5.0 per night, a number that slots him 12th among Patriot League players.

Hinrichs earned Player of the Week accolades at the end of the first half of League play after averaging 21.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 65 percent from the field and 60 percent from beyond the arc in games against Colgate and American. The economics major had seven 20-point games this season, including a career-high 27 at Fairleigh Dickinson.

Rounding out Lafayette’s All-League honorees was Scott, who was a unanimous All-Rookie Team pick. He is coming off consecutive double-digit scoring games for the first time this season, with 10 points and a team-high five assists on the road at Colgate. He then netted 14 points with two assists in the win versus American and was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week (3/4).

Since being inserted in the starting lineup against Bucknell (1/19), Scott has played 30.6 minutes per night and averaged 10.8 points per game on 47.9 percent shooting and 50 percent from beyond the arc. He has also handed out 31 assists compared to 13 turnovers in those 12 games in which Lafayette is 9-3. Overall on the season, Scott is scoring 7.7 points per game and reached 17 points on two occasions.
