The Leopards dropped to 11-13 overall and 4-3 in Patriot League play after a 68-64 loss to American. Seth Hinrichs (18 points, 8 rebounds) led Lafayette offensively and on the glass, while Bryce Scott scored 17 second-half points with a 5-for-5 effort from beyond the arc.
Hinrichs was voted as the Patriot League Men's Basketball and ECAC Player of the Week after averaging 21.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 65 percent from the field and 60 percent from distance against Colgate and American.
Hinrichs (14.7 ppg) leads the team in scoring and has six 20-point games this season. Hinrichs has scored in double figures in 13 of Lafayette's last 14 games and 20 times overall.
Lafayette defeated Navy 64-47 on Jan. 12 and has won three in a row against the Mids.
With the win over Colgate, Lafayette moved to 10-2 on the season when leading at halftime.
Tony Johnson is currently seventh in the Lafayette record books with 144 career steals. He needs four steals to tie Bruce Stankavage '91.
Levi Giese (96 career blocked shots) needs four blocks to become the fourth player in program history to reach the century mark.
Johnson currently leads the conference in shooting (52.6 percent), assist-to turnover ratio (2.0) and steals (2.0 spg).
Under Fran O'Hanlon, the Leopards are 116-117 in conference regular-season play and 20-19 against Navy.
