Men's Basketball Looks Ahead to Navy

Lafayette hosts Navy on Saturday as the Leopards and Midshipmen begin the second half of Patriot League play. The game will be carried live on television by the Lafayette Sports Network and also online via the Patriot League Network.
Navy captured victory in the first meeting of the season between the two sides. The Mids scored 50 second half points en route to a 79-71 win in Annapolis, Md. Brandon Venturini scored 28 points on an 8-of-9 effort from beyond the arc in the contest.
Lafayette has limited its opponents to 25 percent shooting from three-point range over its last four games (23-of-92).
Lafayette dipped to 0-9 in Patriot League play following a 75-68 loss to Colgate on Monday. Lafayette has dropped its last four games by a total of 16 points.
Junior Joey Ptasinski has scored in double figures in eight straight games. Ptasinski is second on the team with an average of 12.6 points per game in Patriot League play.
Lafayette is 2-7 at home this season, while Navy holds a 1-10 mark in games played away from Annapolis, Md. The Mids have dropped four consecutive games coming into Saturday afternoon’s tilt.
On the season, Michael Hoffman is 7-of-10 from downtown, including a 6-of-8 effort in conference games.
Joey Ptasinski and Seth Hinrichs are climbing the all-time list for three-point field goals. Ptasinski is tied for 10th with Craig Kowadla ’96 at 147 career threes, while Hinrichs is 12th at 143 treys.
