The Leopards improved to 10-12 overall and 3-2 in Patriot League play with a 78-57 victory over Lehigh. Levi Giese (17 points) led five players in double figures and blocked five shots in the win.
Lafayette set a season low with six turnovers in the loss to Bucknell and then matched the effort in wins against Holy Cross and Lehigh.
Giese now sits in fourth in Lafayette history with 91 career blocked shots. Giese had four swats against Holy Cross to move him past Ted Cole ’99.
Seth Hinrichs (14.1 ppg) leads the team in scoring and has five 20-point games this season. Hinrichs has scored in double figures in 11 of Lafayette’s last 12 games.
With the win over Lehigh, Lafayette moved to 9-2 on the season when leading at halftime.
Under Fran O’Hanlon, the Leopards are 115-116 in conference regular-season play and 22-19 against Colgate.
Wednesday’s game will be televised by the Lafayette Sports Network. So far this season, Lafayette is 5-0 when the LSN-TV crew is on the clock.
The Leopards have won five consecutive games against Colgate, by an average margin of 11 points.
Lafayette (3-2) sits alone in third place in the Patriot League standings. In a four-way tie for fourth place at 2-3 each is Holy Cross, Colgate, Army and American. Lehigh and Bucknell lead the conference at 4-1 through five games.
