Lafayette (4-15, 0-8) hosts Colgate (7-12, 1-7) on Monday night in a nationally televised contest on CBS Sports Network. Monday marks the first day of classes for the spring semester and the return of the Leopards' Lair, Lafayette's student cheering section.
Lafayette has taken the last seven meetings between the two schools, including an 69-40 rout last season in Easton, Pa.
Lafayette has limited its opponents to 27.1 percent shooting from three-point range over its last four games (23-of-85).
Lafayette dipped to 0-8 in Patriot League play following a 71-68 loss to Lehigh on Saturday. Lafayette has dropped its last three games by a total of nine points.
Junior Joey Ptasinski has scored in double figures in seven straight games. Ptasinski is tied for third on the team with an average of 11.5 points per game in Patriot League play.
Lafayette is 2-6 at home this season, while Colgate holds a 3-7 mark in games played away from Hamilton, N.Y. The Raiders have dropped two consecutive games coming into Monday night's tilt.
On the season, Michael Hoffman is 7-of-9 from downtown, including a 6-of-7 effort in conference games. After opening Patriot League play with a miss at Navy (0-1), Hoffman has made six in-a-row from beyond the arc.
Joey Ptasinski is climbing the all-time list for three-point field goals and is tied with teammate Seth Hinrichs at 142 career threes. Ptasinski and Hinrichs are and five short of cracking the top 10, where Craig Kowalda '96 (147) sits.
