Jan. 24, 2014
Lafayette (4-14, 0-7) challenges Lehigh (9-11, 2-5) on Saturday as it tries to capture its first conference victory. The Leopards took all three meetings between the two historic rivals last year and increased their all-time series lead to 139-78.
Both coaching staffs will wear sneakers with their suits on Saturday night in support of Coaches vs. Cancer.
Lafayette has limited its opponents to 27 percent shooting from three-point range over its last three games (17-of-63).
Lafayette dipped to 0-7 in Patriot League play following an 66-61 loss to American on Saturday. It is the first time under head coach Fran O'Hanlon that Lafayette has started its conference schedule 0-7.
Junior Joey Ptasinski has scored in double figures in six straight games and freshman Nick Lindner has scored at least 10 points in the Leopards' last five contests.
Lafayette is 2-8 on the road this season, while Lehigh holds a 5-3 mark in games played at Stabler Arena. Lehigh's overtime win against Navy snapped a five-game losing streak for the Mountain Hawks.
Lafayette's 72.7 points per game scoring average is second in the Patriot League. Lehigh is seventh in the conference at 68.2 points per game.
Joey Ptasinski is climbing the all-time list for three-point field goals and is 12th all-time with 139. He is three shy of teammate Seth Hinrichs (142) and eight short of cracking the top 10, where Craig Kowalda '96 (147) sits.
