Opening Tip:

Lafayette hosts NJIT as the Leopards look to win their fifth consecutive home game. Lafayette is 5-2 overall at Kirby Sports Center this season.

Lafayette is 4-1 all-time against NJIT, but lost last season’s meeting (78-58) in Newark, N.J. The Leopards shot just 34.5 percent from the field, including 6-of-30 from three-point range (20 percent) in the loss.

The Leopards dropped to 5-10 overall with a 65-59 loss at Stanford. Joey Ptasinski led Lafayette in scoring with 17 points, while Seth Hinrichs added 16 as the pair combined for nine threes.

Dan Trist (14.3 ppg) missed three games before returning to score ten points against Princeton. Trist has led Lafayette in scoring seven times this season and has netted at least ten points in ten games.

Levi Giese (25 blocks) has had at least two rejections in nine games this season.

Ptasinski is tied for the Patriot League lead with 36 made three pointers this year.

Hinrichs (14.2 ppg) has scored at least ten points in eight of the Leopards’ last nine games.

Tony Johnson passed Bilal Abdullah ’08 and moved into 16th in the Lafayette record books with 124 career steals after securing one steal against Stanford. He leads the Patriot League with 29 thefts this season.

Lafayette is being outscored by 15.5 points in its eight road games this season and averages 17.4 turnovers per game away from home. At Kirby Sports Center, Lafayette is +0.9 in scoring margin and averages only 13.0 turnovers per contest.
